This ought to be a tossup right until election day, and Chabot has staved off serious challenges in the past, but things look great right now.

Chabot Aide Gets Caught Doing Campaign Work from House Office
Having worked in a congressional office, this is one of those things that you have to be careful about. We would get calls in the roll-up to campaign season in the office, and would have to refer them elsewhere, pretty quickly. Some of the mistakes are inevitable, and I put this in that category.

Chabot Shows Flashes of Bipartisanship
In what can likely be termed a timely, and admittedly astute move for Ohio's First Congressional District Representative, Steve Chabot has shown some bipartisanship around the sub-prime mortgage crisis. He continues to maintain a fairly low profile within the district and for that matter in Washington. Will Steve Driehaus put together a message that can unseat Chabot?

OH-01, 02 Possible Dem Pickups in 2008 Cycle
The Cook Political Report is listing both Steve Chabot and Mean Jean as "Leaning Republican" in the 2008 cycle. Each show potential promise. Overall, Democrats currently have 14 seats listed as Lean or Toss Up, while Republicans currently have 22 seats listed as Lean or Toss Up.
